• Developed X-Audit®, a pornographic file audit system for enterprise uses by generating summary report on demand from scanning activity on clientsˇ¦ computers; this helped the companies save 30% investment in storage and internet equipment.
• Prototyped WatchDog®, an off-line pornographic content surfing scanning system on Squid proxy server; this monitors improper internet uses in an enterprise
• Work done in C, Perl and MySQL DBMS

RESEARCH PROJECTS

• IBM Tivoli Security ˇV EPAL to P3P Converter, Master Thesis(9/2003 ~ 5/2004)
  • Initiated by IBM Tivoli Security Team in NC and IBM Research in Zurich, Switzerland
  • Developing platform to convert internal enterprise policy rules (EPAL, Enterprise Privacy Authorization Language) into outside use, machine readable data practice (P3P); this helped enterprises to keep promises to their customers in sync with internal data practices
  • Part of IBM Tivoli Privacy Management framework; work in XML and Java
• National Broadband Experimental Network ˇV GigaPOP (4/2001 ~ 12/2001)
  • Held by National Science Council, national organization of supporting, planning and coordinating R&D activities for academic institutions in Taiwan
  • Cooperated with 12 more research units in other university and research labs around the country
  • Conducted video-conference experiments with other units made communication easier, which was based on Nortel Bay 5000 Series Router.
  • DiffServ experiments with National Central University [Big5](Paper published at TANet 2001, annual conference of Taiwan Academic Network) demonstrated its effectiveness.
• Web-Based, Role-Based Dynamic Information Retrieval in a Policy-Based QoS-Oriented Service Management Support System (12/2000 ~ 11/2001)
  • Held by Taiwan Cellular Corporation, #2 GSM service provider in Taiwan
  • Worked with a team from its R&D department
  • Design and prototyped a service management framework for its commercial GPRS network; moreover, advanced topics, such as QoS for 3G, were also surveyed
  • Work in Java, JavaScript and Oracle 8i DBMS
